The Gateway to the World
The old German town of Lübeck, listed by Unesco as a World Heritage site, is called the “Venice of the Baltic”. The city is located only 70km away from Hamburg and can be reached conveniently by train, bus or car.
Today, its appearance is still characterised by a medieval ambience and by cultural and historical attractions, such as the Holsten Gate, that hark back to Lübeck’s glorious past as a free imperial and Hanseatic city. Besides visiting cultural highlights every visitor should try the sweetest temptation: Lübeck marzipan!
